Introduction of department

The Graduate School was established for fostering the expertise of Christian leaders having both intellect and spirituality. For this purpose, the Graduate School offers Master’s degree courses (Master of Theology, Master of Culture, Master of Music) and Doctor’s degree (Doctor of Philosophy) courses to instill the ability to engage in in-depth academic research of each major and connect theory with practice. Majors in the Graduate School include Theology, Counseling Psychology, Christian Education, Early Childhood Education, and Music.

Department

  • Department of Theology

    This department offers Master of Theology course and Doctor of Philosophy course. In Master of Theology course, specific majors include Old Testament study, New Testament study, Systematic Theology, Religious Philosophy and Ethics, Historical Theology, Practical Theology (Homiletic, Missiology, Pastoral Counseling, Mission Studies)
    Students who have completed more than 80 credits in theology related subjects from the undergraduate program can be directly admitted to the Master of Theology course without going through the Master of Divinity course.
    In Doctor of Philosophy course, there are specific majors such as Old Testament study, New Testament study, Systematic Theology, Religious Philosophy and Ethics, Historical Theology, Practical Theology (Practice, Mission, Pastoral Counseling).
    This Graduate School places emphasis on instilling specialized academic qualities of the relevant area by conducting in-depth research on theological theories by specialized field, and cultivating creativity by contributing to the ever-changing modern society and the church.

  • Department of Counseling Psychology

    The department offers Doctor of Philosophy course. Its goal is to train Christian counseling specialists who contribute in building a bright and healthy church and a happy society by restoring individuals and families through counseling. This graduate school lays emphasis on training competent clinical and counseling psychologists needed by this era through systematic and specialized research in order to foster competent specialists majoring in clinical and counseling psychology based on Christian counseling.
    Graduates can serve as clinical counselors and counseling specialists, researchers, and professors in Christian counseling related organizations or general counseling related organizations, hospitals, schools, etc.

  • Department of Christian Education

    The department offers Master of Art/Master of Christian Education course and Doctor of Philosophy course. The goal of education is to establish academic foundation and expertise by conducting in-depth research on overall theories, to enhance expert knowledge and skills for effectively educating all age groups, and to equip an individual with leadership centered around the church and the family. After completing the Master’s course in this graduate school, the student can move on to the doctorate course of the graduate school, conduct research on one’s major, and engage in lecturing ministry at the university.

  • Department of Early Childhood Education

    The department offers Master of Art in Early Childhood Education. The Department of Early Childhood Education was established for the purpose of training Christian early childhood specialists. The goal of education is to have a harmonious development of creativity and functional capacity that can respond efficiently to the era of informatization, and to have expertise an early childhood specialist must be equipped with based on character and morality which is desperately demanded in Christian leaders and teachers.
    After completing the graduate course, a student can enter into society through re-education of current workers, education of advanced courses, and other early childhood education projects

  • Department of Music

    The department is running the Master of Music course. The Department of Music has opened majors such as piano, organ, vocal music, and violin in order to train specialized musicians with both theory and practice.
    After completing this course, a student can perform as a professional musician or study abroad, or lecture at a university.
